Football Academies

The Sports Academies program of OPAP/Allwyn aims to bring children and adolescents close to sports, to inspire in young people the ideals of sports and noble competitive values. Additionally, the goal of the program is to improve the attitude of parents towards sports and their child, emphasizing the importance of support, and to encourage the adoption of balanced dietary habits, contributing to the preservation of children’s health and the improvement of their athletic performance.

125 Amateur Football Clubs, members of the Local Football Club Associations, participate in the program. The total participation of children aged 7-10 reaches 10,000, and they are supported by 450 coaches from all over Greece. The Greek Society for Adolescent Medicine participates with scientific staff in the implementation and support of the program. Scientists from various specialties (pediatricians, nutritionists, and psychologists) have undertaken the educational and scientific support of the program through educational seminars, article writing on the program’s website (sportsacademies.opap.gr), communication of the sports academies’ festivals, and individualized interventions through the website’s communication platform. In the 125 sports academies, speeches are also held by pediatricians, psychologists, and nutritionists-dietitians with the relevant theme “Child & Health – Sports & Nutrition”.
